ARUF ENERGY-EFFICIENT AIR HANDLER
Providing outstanding product is just one way of continuing the Goodman® brand’s over seventy year promise to homeowners. We are here to help you get the most out of your product, offering the tools and resources to show you how.
In general, many homeowners have no idea or awareness of the HVAC system brand operating in their home. Research shows that when it comes to replacing their existing HVAC system, up to 90% of homeowners rely on their local HVAC dealer to determine the best system and brand for their home.
So, every day the local HVAC dealer’s reputation is on the line when they make a recommendation to a homeowner. Their business success depends on the trust between the homeowner and the HVAC dealer’s company. With that level of possible risk, dealers will strive to make the best decision and select the best brand for every homeowner they serve. And every day, more dealers choose Goodman brand equipment. While it may not be a household name, yet, Goodman is a member of one of the leading manufacturers of residential, commercial and industrial HVAC systems and refrigerants. The brand has global resources and support to ensure that the best technology, manufacturing processes, testing and product limited warranties are applied in all the company’s products.
So, here are 5 reasons why we think you’ll be saying “Thank goodness for Goodman®.”
Goodman takes great pride in our manufacturing quality.
The Goodman® brand product line is assembled in facilities that are ISO 9001- and 14001-certified, which is accepted worldwide as the independent standard for quality manufacturing, management processes and environment management practices.
Quality, in fact, is an integral part of the Goodman brand mission. From initial assembly to final installation, the Goodman brand is working diligently to elevate homeowner perceptions of the entire HVAC industry.
Goodman is investing in quality and in the U.S.A.
Goodman’s parent company has invested in quality and in the U.S.A. While many other HVAC manufacturers have moved production outside of the United States, Goodman invested $400M in a new state-of- the-art manufacturing facility located just outside of Houston, Texas.
Goodman believes that HVAC workers in the U.S.A. can compete with anyone in the world, and we prove it every day.
Goodman maintains a Better Business Bureau A+ rating.
We take pride in our products and in our ability to work with dealers and homeowners to resolve any complaints that may arise. That’s why the Goodman brand was awarded the Better Business Bureau’s® highest rating. The A+ rating is based on 16 performance factors that reflect Goodman’s ability to work with homeowners to quickly resolve questions or concerns regarding the entire line of Goodman heating and cooling products.
At Goodman, we believe in providing peace-of-mind.
Goodman’s 20-Year Heat Exchanger Limited Warranty*, 10-Year Unit Replacement Limited Warranty*, the Lifetime Compressor Limited Warranty*, the Lifetime Heat Exchanger Limited Warranty* and a 10-Year Parts Limited Warranty* (on select products) offer homeowners peace-of-mind. The Goodman brand provides strong limited product warranty coverage for a reason. We build our products to provide lasting performance. We test each Goodman brand product three times, including an actual run test, before it leaves the assembly line.
The Goodman® brand has been recognized as an innovator, the industry’s heat transfer experts.
Heat transfer is the core of any heating or cooling system — whether it’s adding heat to a home with a furnace or removing heat from a home with an air conditioner, Goodman is recognized as the industry’s heat transfer experts.
The heart of Goodman brand furnaces is the heat exchanger. The tubular aluminized steel primary heat exchanger found in all Goodman brand furnaces is designed with wrinkle bend technology for outstanding durability and heat transfer.

If you’re looking for an evaporator coil that offers enhanced durability, coupled with enhanced performance (as tested in our labs), this is the product for you. Models ASPT, ARUF, AWUF and ACNF contain All-Aluminum evaporator coils.
INDOOR HUMIDITY A warm summer day is fine as long as humidity doesn’t cause you to break into a sweat when walking from your house to the car. The same applies indoors. You’re more comfortable inside your home when the moisture level is lower – just as you are more comfortable outside when it’s not as humid. Goodman systems are designed to improve air comfort by lowering indoor moisture levels
Recommended vs. Required Upgrades
Depending on the unit you purchase, there may be additional items needed for your AC install. To avoid any surprises, we appreciate the opportunity to clarify the difference between recommended and required upgrades you may be offered by your install contractor.
Traditionally, contractors sell new AC units with all the bells and whistles, which is why most conventional AC prices are between $8000 - $15,000+. But when the power steering pump goes out in your car, you don’t replace the whole engine, right? This same theory holds true for your air conditioning unit. When you need to replace your AC, that doesn’t mean that all the other components need to be replaced, too. For example, the duct work, thermostat, electrical disconnect, etc. aren’t what has failed. It is simply that the AC unit itself needs to be replaced.
At newACunit.com, we believe you should only pay to replace what is broken, so we put you in charge of buying upgraded items for your new AC unit. Our hand-picked contractors will discuss upgrade items with you at the time of the Jobsite inspection. But it’s very important for you to understand that these are recommendations only and you are not required to purchase anything additional from our installing contractors unless you want to. The price you paid on the website includes full installation of your new system without having to buy any additional items. Our install contractors are the best in the business and will retrofit your new AC unit into your current application. We have negotiated the industry’s best price for your AC replacement based on a few major factors.
- We have national buying power directly from the manufacturers and have truly cut out the middleman.
- We have negotiated an aggressive labor price with our contractors for the install of your new AC unit.
- We don’t sell you items that you don’t need.
But given that every install is different, there are rare occasions where a required upgrade is needed to get your new AC unit up and running properly. For example, if you currently have a single-stage unit with a single-stage thermostat and you were to purchase a new 2-stage unit, you would need to upgrade to a 2-stage thermostat. There are benefits to upgrading certain parts of your new AC unit, but everyone’s upgrade options are different and that’s why we let you decide with your install contractor which ones apply to you. But please remember––most of the time, these are recommendations only and you are not required to upgrade anything that isn’t going to prevent your system from being properly retrofitted. We have sold thousands of new AC units and less than 1% of our customers have had to make a required upgrade. Given the fact that we provide such a low cost install, many of our customers are able to make recommended upgrades to their new AC purchase and still save thousands of dollars. If you have any questions about upgrades, please contact us at 1-800-NEW-UNIT.
Please keep in mind, your assigned contractor will go over RECOMMENDED upgrades to enhance your system at the jobsite inspection. If you choose to purchase any of the recommended items, they will be sold to you by your contractor, not newACunit.com and will require an additional fee. You are not obligated to purchase any additional items you do not want to. In the conventional buying process, all contractors include additional upgrades with the unit that is being sold to you. Oftentimes, those upgrades are not the reason your AC unit failed. At newACunit.com, we leave you in control of your budget.
Recommended upgrades may include: return/supply plenums, ductwork, condensate drain line, float switch, hanging kits, thermostat, return grilles, etc.
REQUIRED upgrades are items you must purchase before installation to ensure your new AC unit will function properly. Your assigned install contractor will go over any additional items needed at your jobsite inspection.
Required upgrades may include: a 2-stage thermostat for your unit to be able to run in the 2nd stage, structural changes, safety hazard fixes or replacement of items that may prevent the system from functioning properly.
